Introducing myself

Hello,

I just want to explain why I created this blog. I lost 14 kilos from walking. Now I want to lose another 10 kilos to lose weight but then I want to keep walking to continue living a healthy lifestyle so I can actually do things I want to do.

So here is the background. I started dancing ballet when I was five years old. I did this until about 15 years old and then kept dancing recreationally. I became dance captain in high school.

I kept dancing on and off after I moved out at 18 years old but I wasn’t as active. Then later I had children and would walk everywhere with them. I was lucky the community I was in had everything in walking distance, shops, library, swimming pool and playgrounds.

Then I turned 33 and started doing aerials! Aerials is like dancing in the air. I did it for a couple of years and even had my own rig in my backyard to do daily. I was probably the fittest and most flexible I had ever been.

Then it all ended. I put on 24 kilos and just didn’t move. I ate more. Sigh. Whatever the reason people put on weight, for me, it was sort of gradual probably over two years. Also covid had hit, which is where I added ten kilos from the 24.

Then I started walking, which was good timing because fuel costs were rising high. I lost 14 kilos in a year.

And then in the next eight months I lost nothing but maintained my weight.

Now I am ready to make walking part of my life and eating and drinking better. I have created this blog to inspire and help others start their journey. I find that people who want to lose weight try to start out full bull workouts, whereas I lost 14 kilos just by walking. I can keep walking and lose the rest.

Let us begin this cool journey together.
