Walking is helping other areas

Image
Image sourced via: https://www.britannica.com/story/why-do-some-people-call-football-soccer   So I am finding that after walking every day for two weeks that when my children say, Mum come play soccer with us, I actually have the energy to get up and go outside and play soccer for a bit.  I haven’t played soccer in like a decade or two. And I think, I might eventually start running as well to boost my stamina and energy to run in the soccer game.  It’s interesting, how walking each day has not only shown me I can play soccer but also my mind is thinking ahead, maybe I could join a female soccer club? Like why not?  I have absolutely no clue on the rules but who cares? I would learn as I played and I could even study real life games to learn more.  Have you found that walking has improved your overall fitness?  #walking #overallfitness #soccer

Losing weight after first week

Image
Image sourced via:  https://findyourgym.ae/fitness/exercise/workout/walk-to-lose-weight/ So the good news is, as per my introduction, I am aiming to lose another 10 kilos. And I weighed myself after my first week of walking and I lost 400g. It may not seem a lot but for me that’s how I lost 14 kilos. A bit every week.  I feel we get told to lose weight you have to lose a minimum of one kilo a week. Whereas, I found I lost 14 kilos by losing less than a kilo a week. It did take a year but there was less pressure on myself and my body.  So count your small wins because they do add up to your big wins.

What to do when you don’t feel like walking

^Mi Gente pop mash up songs I listened to getting the music pumping So it happened… I had to get home after work to meet someone. They cancelled once I got home. I was also starving so ate some left over pizza. I was full. I wasn’t going to go for a walk because I had someone visiting.  I also wasn’t going to go for a walk because I was starving. So I had a dilemma, should I go for a walk when I just ate and only had an hour before darkness?  Or should I do something I love instead, like arts and craft?  So I decided to go for a walk. I pumped some pop music into my headphones and not too fast but not too slow I went for a walk. Before I did this walk, I had done 3,500 steps. I didn’t really want to have a walking blog and only achieve 3,500 steps for the day. So I walked and at the end an hour later did an extra 4,000 steps. I have to say I am feeling pretty pumped and as a reward to myself for walking, when I really could have not walked after work, I then went t...

Swooping birds while walking

Image
Image sourced via:  Swooping Australian Magpie Photos – GPLama.com So at the start of swooping season in Australia (not sure if other countries have this problem - a swooping bird can attack when you go near it's babies nest), and I have been swooped twice. One time, it was just one swoop and whoosh right next to my ear, but I still freaked out and tried to find where the bird was to walk far away from it and quickly. The other was when I was walking through a car park and boom, this bird would not stop swooping and I am sure you aren't supposed to run, so I would walk but it was swopping around my head and then knocking the back of my head very hard, so I just ran until I was under a building. I was breathing hard and was hurt but thankfully not bleeding, which can happen with being swooped.  Honestly, swooping is scary.  I was telling my friend and she said, she was going to start swimming to keep up her fitness instead of walking. This is hard for me though, don...
