Swooping birds while walking

So at the start of swooping season in Australia (not sure if other countries have this problem - a swooping bird can attack when you go near it's babies nest), and I have been swooped twice. One time, it was just one swoop and whoosh right next to my ear, but I still freaked out and tried to find where the bird was to walk far away from it and quickly.
The other was when I was walking through a car park and boom, this bird would not stop swooping and I am sure you aren't supposed to run, so I would walk but it was swopping around my head and then knocking the back of my head very hard, so I just ran until I was under a building. I was breathing hard and was hurt but thankfully not bleeding, which can happen with being swooped.
Honestly, swooping is scary.
I was telling my friend and she said, she was going to start swimming to keep up her fitness instead of walking. This is hard for me though, don't get me wrong I can definitely go swimming, but I feel like I just started my walking goals. Not to mention if I swim well I will still be getting fit.
But I really wanted to walk. But it made me think, while walking home ... may be I could walk home the long way and if I could walk home and not be attacked by a bird, I would follow that same route every day and then because I haven't walked as far as I wanted, I would make it up with dancing.
If you want to learn about my dancing goals, read my honest blog here: Melanie Toye’s dance (melanietoyesdance.blogspot.com). Dancing has been a lot harder to get back into than walking. Walking is so easy, I don't have to work hard to be good. I just walk. Anyway, now I can achieve both goals with walking and dancing.
I am really enjoying walking and either listening to cool dance music to get my blood pumping or listen to a pod cast and get inspired by learning something new. It really depends if I am near traffic. If it's a main road I am walking along, music it is, so I can hear it. Podcasts I just can't seem to hear when there is a lot of traffic.
Please comment below, if where you walk you get swooped. What do you do to avoid it?
